First thing I’m going to do when I’m Queen of the World…

would be to recognize the value of education through quality of the opportunities and by those who lead/teach/mentor. While randomly job searching through university positions today, I come across a position which requires a Master’s degree plus 3 years direct experience or preferred PhD with 5 years direct experience. This position pays a whopping $31,000 a [...]

Wallpaper

Yes, this post is mostly about wallpaper. It’s also about the ex but frankly I care more about the wallpaper. So, as I’m continuing my job hunt I’m living with my parents in the house I moved into at the age of 6, left at 18 for college, and then again at 22 for the city [...]

Trying to pass the time while waiting for the debates

OMG. I canNOT wait for the debates!! I have been salivating for it. This has been quite a week in this country, my goodness. Honestly, I am so thankful for this election right now, I’m so pre-occupied with reading and researching and CNNing it, that I don’t have time or care to wallow in self pity [...]

I am ready

Today I think I’ve reached the point the universe has been pushing and prodding me to reach. After a quasi-emotional day, in which I let myself feel every emotion possible and really listen to it - hopefully my once a month allotment of crying too - I feel ready to: - Start my career, with a job [...]

The continuing soundtrack of my life

I love music. I think I need to put a caveat to this. I love music that moves me. I am not a music snob, in fact I’m sure I have horrible taste. And while I prefer to discover and listen to bands that I cannot find on the radio, I listen to most everything. [...]

About Me:
In the span of less than one year, I quit my job in marketing in Chicago and moved 5 hours to graduate school to study higher education, watched as the most serious relationship ended due to distance, and oh yeah, I turned 30.

I feel like I'm starting a new chapter in my life and trying to break out of the trepidation and fear so that I can truly enjoy it.

I don't write particularly well, but I write because my mind is always ON, and it helps to clear and organize my head.

I noticed you were a displaced Chicagoan. Indiana is no fun, but at least it makes you realize how much you love Chicago! :-)

Welcome to TSB. =)

I started a whole new chapter in my life as I turned 30 as well. I have to say that a year & a half in, my 30s are *way* better than my 20s. (Whew.)
